How to make orange bread

Il pan byorange It's a simple, wholesome, soft, and fragrant dessert thanks to the citrus fruits. This is the ancient and original Sicilian recipe for making it in about an hour.

 

Ingredients (for a 24cm diameter cake tin)

  • 2 oranges (whole and untreated)
  • 120 ml of milk (basically the capacity of a yogurt pot)
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 300 grams of flour
  • 1 sachet of instant baking powder
  • Butter for the mold
  • 1 food processor or 1 blender

Preparation

  • Wash thoroughly whole oranges with water and baking soda, and rinse them equally thoroughly
  • To cut the oranges into eight pieces and transfer them in the blender

  • Blend them until you get a cream

  • Add, in order: milk, sugar, the eggs, the flour and finally the yeast, taking care to mix the ingredients as you pour them in
  • Switch on fan oven at 190°
  • Prepare Butter the cake pan. Alternatively, you can use a plum cake mold, or silicone molds that don't require any preparation.
  • Transfer the cake in the hot oven
  • After about 40 minutes, controllare the doneness level: the toothpick must come out dry and clean.
  • As soon as the cake is cooked, turn it off and let it rest in the oven for about 10 minutes.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and wait for it to cool before unmolding it.
  • Sprinkle of plenty of icing sugar.
