BAND ROLLER WHIP
Washing machine drums transformed into timpani. Car rims transformed into snare drums. A large portion of the instruments of a band unique in the world, the "Rollers Blenders", come from the world of recycling and reuse. But that's not all. Before things and objects, this project reclaims people.
RULLI FULLLI THE RECYCLING BAND
The band comprises 75 members, divided by age: since 2010, they have performed 180 concerts and recorded five albums featuring their own songs. Besides rehabilitation, the band's other key concept is inclusion. Indeed, many young people with disabilities also play in the group, as Federico Alberghini, a visionary forty-year-old and the creator of this courageous project, wanted from the very beginning. The group was founded in Emilia and later established branches, with independent bands, in Bologna and Parma, as well as in Rome and Milan. And some of the older members have gone from simple musicians to music teachers for the new additions.
MUSIC FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES
The merit of this project, as already anticipated, is of Federico Alberghini, creator and founder of the musical group, which he created in 2010 together with the C. and G. Andreoli Music School Foundation. Since then, what seemed like just a utopia has now become a splendid reality. From the very beginning, in fact, Federico aspired to form a band composed only of instruments made from recycled materials and which knew how to work on the integration of disabled childrenA milestone achieved with great satisfaction, including highly prestigious collaborations: Jovanotti, Mika, and even Pope Francis have taken turns listening to these phenomenal guys.
