A wonderful initiative to promote reading in this Apulian town. Thanks to a very active municipal library.

Poems with the receipt. Galatina, a beautiful baroque town in the Lecce area, famous for its pasticciotto, a dessert made with shortcrust pastry and custard, they have come up with an initiative that has many positive aspects.

POEMS WITH RECEIPTS IN GALATINA

At a number of participating stores, from delicatessens to greengrocers, when customers pay, they also receive the text of a poem with their receipt. A poem by a renowned artist. From Alda Merini to Donato Moro, da Giorgio Caproni to Antonio VerriYou pay for a pound of ham or a kilo of strawberries and you take home an author's text, like the Perugina kiss leaflet, of enormous value, in this case.

The project  It has several positive aspects. It brings the public closer to reading, amplifies the language of kindness, and strengthens the relationship between merchants and customers. And it's no coincidence that it was born in Galatina: in the Apulian town, in fact, a very active reading promotion program is active. municipal library, entitled to Peter Siciliani, complete with a public demonstration entitled “Local Pact for Reading”.
