DRIED FRUIT DONUT RECIPE –
There are even desserts that are not only very low in fat, but also help fight "bad" cholesterol, the type that puts our coronary arteries at greatest risk. One of these, by far one of the tastiest and most effective, is the dried fruit ring . Perfect for a healthy and energizing breakfast, with a touch of homemade jam . And perfect as a snack, perhaps after a workout or physical activity. But here's how to make dried fruit ring at home, which, incidentally, is virtually impossible to find in bakeries, but at home it also allows you to avoid wasting leftover dried fruit.

Ingredients
- 100 gr of almond flour
- 500 grams of flour
- 50 grams of sultanas
- 50 g of dried figs
- 40 g of yeast
- Marsala
- Candied fruit
- Cinnamon powder
- Mixed dried fruit
- 150 grams of sugar
- 125 g butter
- 50 gr of hazelnuts
- 3 eggs
- Milk - Latte
- Salt to taste
Preparation
Mix 150g of flour with the yeast dissolved in a little lightly sweetened milk. Let the dough rest until doubled in size. Meanwhile, soak the raisins in Marsala.
– With the remaining flour, work the leavened dough, adding the beaten eggs, melted butter, a pinch of cinnamon, sugar, a small glass of Marsala, and a pinch of salt. Also add the drained and chopped raisins , almond flour, chopped hazelnuts, and chopped dried figs.
– Let the dough rise for about half an hour, then pour it into a buttered donut pan and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake for 50 minutes at 180°C. Remove from the oven, let cool, and then unmold. Brush the cake with egg white and garnish with dried fruit and candied fruit.
An advice
Depending on your taste, consider adding ground ginger and orange zest to the batter, or replacing the Marsala with grappa, rum, or Moscato wine. For an extra touch of sweetness, dust the cake with powdered sugar.
