Davide Calleja, from Agrigento, dreamed of becoming a surgeon. He started out well, earning good grades at the medical school in Palermo. But the call of his roots and his homeland grew stronger every day, so Davide decided to interrupt his studies and dedicate himself to cultivating the land that belonged to his grandfather Filippo. The 64 hectares of cultivated land between Comitini, Sant'Angelo Muxaro, and Aragona hide a hidden treasure: one of the world's finest oreganos . From there, Davide's business evolved into a small farm that sells Agrigento oregano throughout Italy and even abroad, producing over 60 bunches. His clients include resorts and five-star hotels that demand Davide's oregano for their kitchens.
