How to Make Uramaki California Rolls

Uramaki California, also known as california rollThey are very easy to prepare and can be served in less than an hour. A recipe for a perfect dish for your brunch, or even for an evening with friends who love Japanese cuisine.

Ingredients for people 4

  • 4 sheets of nori seaweed
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 1 avocado
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup crab meat (or surimi)
  • 1 handful of sesame seeds

Preparation

  • Peel the avocado and cut it into strips (or mash it, depending on your preference).
  • Take the surimi (or crab meat) and place it in a bowl and mix it with the salt and mayonnaise.
  • Take a sushi mat and wrap it in cling film.
  • Place the sheet of Alga nori on the mat. Then, spread the rice evenly over the seaweed and press it down firmly. Sprinkle a handful of sesame seeds over the rice.
  • Now, place the seaweed and rice upside down so that the seaweed and not the rice are visible. Then, arrange the avocado and crabmeat lengthwise on the seaweed, forming a strip of ingredients.
  • Begin rolling the mat, pressing the ingredients into the sushi cylinder. Once rolled, compact the roll by pressing firmly on the mat with your hands, then remove the roll. Finally, use a sharp knife to cut the sushi roll into sections about 2 centimeters wide.
