Osvaldo Paldino and Rosina Furiati , the owners of the café located in Cossato , in the province of Biella, have managed to perform a miracle: they haven't touched the price of a cup of coffee for 23 years. So at Fante di cuori, a coffee still costs 0,70 cents . Half the price of many bars in Milan and Turin, not to mention the sky-high prices that are rife every day at Italian airports.

The couple did their calculations and determined that the fair price should be around 85-90 cents . But they still decided to leave the cup at 0,70, considering the crisis that began in 2008. This story, aside from the generosity typical of a certain Italian, points out two important facts. If we wanted, the spiral of inflation could be stopped, starting with small gestures. Think how different the situation would be for all of us if large supermarkets , grocery stores, restaurants, and bars, for example, followed the same path as the couple from Cossato. We would live in a different country. Second lesson: speculation is always difficult to separate from the laws of the market. What makes the difference is only people's sense of responsibility.
