How to fix laddered nylon stockings in just a few minutes

All you need is nail polish or hairspray. Or even a traditional needle and thread.

How to fix laddered nylon stockings right away
Runs on nylon stockings can be fixed in minutes with a few simple tricks that involve nail polish, hairspray, and even glue.

Nail polish

The first natural remedy for runny nylon stockings, and also the most effective if the hole is small, is to use nail polish. Clear, of course. Spread the runny stocking out evenly, lightly brush it over the damaged area, let it dry for 2-3 minutes, and you'll see that the run won't get any bigger. This method, in fact, isn't a repair, but a way to prevent the run from becoming so large that the nylon stockings become unwearable.

Needle without thread

If the stretch mark is small, you can use a needle without thread. Using the tip, gently draw the threads inward, then secure the micro-repair with a drop of nail polish to prevent the stretch mark from reappearing.

Fabric glue

Another option is to use a special glue for synthetic fabrics, available in specialty stores. Simply follow the instructions on the package, as different products can work differently. Generally, however, simply bring the edges of the hole as close together as possible, apply the glue, and in some cases, set it with heat (such as an iron). When purchasing, choose a glue for synthetic fabrics with a transparent, odorless composition. Once applied, it won't be particularly noticeable. However, a small trace will still be visible.

Hairspray

Another brilliant remedy is hairspray. It's a hair product that many people have at home and helps set their hairstyle. You can use it, in this case, to repair the hole in your nylon stockings, or at least prevent it from growing further, so it's practically inconspicuous.

  • Remove the tights and insert your hand under the part of them that has run (be careful not to tear the fabric further)
  • Spray the hole with a generous amount of hairspray until the entire area is covered.
  • Let the hairspray dry, turn the tights over and repeat the operation on the other side.

Rhinestones and patches

One last creative idea is to embellish laddered nylon stockings. You can use rhinestones, bows, or unique patches to cover the holes. Sure, it's an unusual practice, but it could be perfect for certain informal or festive occasions, or for little girls, who will be thrilled to show off such original tights.
