ROW BOT SEA WASTE –
The University of Bristol, England, has created a true technological gem to safeguard the marine environment and improve the condition of our waters. An eco-friendly robot, a sea-sweeper that swims and feeds on the waste it ingests.

THE ECOLOGICAL ROBOT ROW BOT –
The product is called Row-bot , which on one hand plays on the word robot and on the other on the verb «to row» which means to row. Yes, because the aquatic robot swims and thanks to its stomach, a microbiological fuel cell, transforms the organic matter present in the water into electrical energy through biodegradation.
The goal is to clean waters of contaminants or harmful agents (think, for example, of plastic pollution or sudden oil spills) and to monitor potentially hazardous environments such as those affected by natural disasters or neglect. It operates automatically and indefinitely.
HOW TO RECHARGE ROW BOT –
By removing pollutants and cleaning the sea, Row-bot simultaneously recharges its batteries and continually opens its mouth, ingesting everything it encounters. It ingests and digests the pollutants that constitute its source of energy.
When it can no longer recharge its batteries, the robot finally changes direction, looking for new water to clean , and in this way it never needs external recharging or human intervention.
