Kolymbetra Garden: Agrigento's Natural Paradise

KOLYMBRETA GARDEN

Among the top 10 most beautiful parks in Italy, there's a little corner of earthly paradise, little known to the general public : the Kolymbetra Garden in Sicily. It's located in the heart of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, between the Temples of Castor and Pollux and the Temple of Vulcan, in a spectacle of beauty unlike any other.

HOW TO VISIT THE KOYMBRETA GARDEN

And here, in this treasure trove of unique, unspoiled treasures, you can visit five hectares of perfectly landscaped and cared for garden, thanks to the efforts and care of the FAI (which took over the management of the Garden from the Sicilian Region). There are typical Mediterranean plants : myrtle, mastic, terebinth, broom, and euphorbia. There are mulberry and carob trees. And a citrus grove with oranges, lemons , and mandarins.

ENTRANCE TO THE KOLYMBRETA GARDEN

A visit to this garden, which is still irrigated using the ancient technique—a blend of Greek engineering and Arab science—and its extraordinary variety of plants, can be arranged and booked through the FAI website . It's definitely worth it. It's also a good opportunity for a complete tour of the Valley of the Temples.
