Those who ride bikes help the city: they're fitter and less likely to get sick, they're happier, and they don't pollute. And from September 16 to 22, 2013, they'll even earn a prize: it's the national campaign " Whoever chooses a bicycle deserves a prize!" organized by FIAB , the Italian Federation of Friends of the Bicycle, as part of the European Sustainable Mobility Week . FIAB director Bepo Merlin tells Non Sprecare how the initiative works and why cycling is worthwhile.

FIAB, LOCAL FIGURES. In our country, the Italian Federation of Friends of the Bicycle (FIAB) promotes cycling culture , advances policy proposals to support and encourage sustainable mobility, and organizes group trips and excursions on two wheels. It is present in 16 regions with 142 associations and over 16.000 members.

FIAB, COMMUTING ACCIDENTS. FIAB has also drafted a bill calling for accidents occurring to workers commuting to work by bicycle to always be recognized, while currently this is only the case in certain cases.
