How to avoid cooking with the oven when it's very hot

Use alternative appliances. Choose quick cooking. Close the kitchen and air it out.

  • Cooking “only once”: Make a larger batch of rice, grains, vegetables, or sauces and use them for multiple meals.
  • Take advantage of ready-made but simple foods: Store-bought grilled vegetables, fresh bread, cheeses, and hard-boiled eggs prepared in advance.
  • If you have to use the forno, do it a few minutes, avoid opening the door often and cook more things at the same time.
  • Close the kitchen and air it out afterwards: if you have to use the forno, keep the kitchen door closed and open the windows when you're done (or use the extractor hood while cooking).
