TESLA TAXI MODENA –

It entered service in September and is already having great success. It is the first taxi Tesla of Italy, 100% electric. It was bought by Gennaro Borrelli, a taxi driver in Modena for almost 20 years, because he was convinced that the electric mobility is the only real alternative.

“It was in 2005 that I first got close to a 'green' car and got my first hybrid car, it was a Toyota Prius "My colleagues told me all sorts of things: they didn't think it was a good buy. I told them that this was the future. They didn't believe me, now we'll see who's right."

And after the Prius came a Tesla. “I liked it immediately, since it came out, but I saw it as a mirage: the Roadster It was definitely too expensive at the time – comments the taxi driver –. But when the Model S I started thinking about it more seriously.”

And then he did some calculations: between diesel, maintenance, insurance, road tax, and breakdowns, he realized that the electric vehicle could be worth the investment.

“With all the accessories, including the autopilot, dual charger and maintenance package, it cost me about 100mila euros – reveals Borrelli –. For a private individual it's a significant sum, but I took it for work. That's why to get it I decided to open a mutual".

TESLA SUPERCHARGER –

“I planned everything before I even got the car, so I calculated my routes and found my reference points for charging,” explains Gennaro Borrelli. “I fill up at Modena South where are the columns Supercharger and where the current is paid for life by Tesla.”

He'll just need to charge there or at public stations around the city to keep his car running. That's why he didn't feel the need to install a socket at home. "And when I'm out of Modena, all I need to do is check the Tesla or Enel Drive app to find the one column closer” he concludes.
