Energy saving: one in two families has invested to reduce their bills

The increased costs of replacing lighting, with the introduction of LED bulbs in homes, are significant. We spend, on average, €1.635 per family per year, and the heating is on for eight hours a day. That's too much.

HOW TO REDUCE YOUR ENERGY BILLS AND SAVE MONEY –

More than half of Italians, 54,1 percent of our families, have made purchases to reduce their energy consumptionTo save money. How? First of all, by changing the lighting and introducing new light bulbs with the Led technology, more expensive, but more effective, more durable and, all things considered, less wasteful than traditional ones. Then, one in four families have taken action to modernise their heating and cooling systems, also taking advantage of the benefits of tax deductionsAnd costs have also dropped significantly: just consider that a diesel system costs, on average, an annual outlay of around 1.400 euros, compared to less than 500 euros that you need to budget for a biomass system.

THE EXPENSES SUSTAINED EACH YEAR BY ITALIAN FAMILIES –

In its annual report on household energy consumption, Istat also calculated the average bill for each family: 1.635 euro a yearStill too high. There's a strong geographical disparity between North and South: in the northern regions, in fact, energy bills are about a third higher than in the southern regions.

ELIMINATE WASTE TO REDUCE YOUR BILLS –

Finally, the Institute of Statistics recommends reducing energy waste. For example, during the current season, for warm-upOur systems are on, on average, eight hours a day. And considering that average outside temperatures have risen significantly, eight hours is truly a lot. More than what's needed, so there's plenty of room for further savings.
