A double job, to run the family business and cultivate his true passion for grapevines. When he inherited half a hectare of vineyard on the slopes of Mount Etna from his uncle, Gianluca Furnari vowed to become a winemaker, fulfilling the wishes of his relative, who had left him a small treasure, whose origins date back to Gianluca's grandfather's work. And so far, he's managed to realize his dream thanks to a double job he pursues: managing his company, “Vallone Rosso Estate”, in the heart of the Etna natural park, and the activity in the family scrapping center (which also includes roadside assistance).
The vineyards are located in the districts of Minucchita, Verginella, Boschetto and Montalto, between 800 and 1.000 metres above sea level, and allow the production of typical Etna wines, such as Nerello Mascalese and Carricante.

In this part of Etna, the quality of the grapes is very high, and the wines continue to receive international recognition. Gianluca, like other young people who have invested in agriculture, has already modernized his small winery, creating a new brand, Tenuta del Vallone Rosso , which he launched on social media. He hopes to transform the business, which he started to honor a pact with his uncle, into his sole profession, something he can do if he manages to reach the initial milestone of producing 6 bottles.
