HOW TO MAKE YOUR LUNCH BREAK ECO-FRIENDLY
Once you have organised lunch, here are some useful tips to make it greener and above all for reduce the amount of waste which generates every day:
- First of all, avoid containers BETON UNO and choose a reusable one. This way, you'll avoid throwing away plastic trays and cutlery, aluminum foil, or other materials. Glass containers are excellent. Do the same with glasses, bringing washable ones rather than the ones you throw away after use. Replace paper napkins with cloth ones that you can easily wash at home. A single-use tableware set, consisting of a plate, a glass, and two plastic cutlery, represents 16% of the total waste produced during lunch: waste you can absolutely avoid.
- If you use the microwave during your lunch break, make sure that the container in which you place the food is in non-toxic material and that it does not contain metal parts.
- Limit the number of plastic bags used for carrying lunch and replace them with some cloth bags or with a cooler bag.
- As for what concerns instead beverages, where possible always choose thetap waterAlternatively, opt for an aluminum or rigid plastic water bottle: you can find them at sporting goods stores. This way, you can reuse the bottle as many times as you like, rather than buying traditional water bottles, which, even after repeated use, eventually lose their shape and become irreparably cloudy. If you enjoy sweet drinks, make a nice cup of tea at home and pour it into the bottle or a thermos.
- If you adore the fruit, buy the one that doesn't have too many packaging plasticized and if your office doesn't have a separate organic waste collection system, put the peels in the container you used to hold your lunch: you'll throw everything away when you get home in the evening.
- Finally, don't forget to do the collection Even in the office. Separating waste saves raw materials and significantly reduces the volume of waste that ends up in landfills.
