Retired Ulisse on the beach in Sardinia: he blocks uncivilized people and collects waste (photos and video)

Ulisse Piddiu, 68, a retired worker from Carbonia, stops an uncivilized tourist from dumping tuna oil into the sea. When he goes to the beach with his nephew Federico, he cleans the beach. What if there were many of us who followed Ulysses' lead?

WASTE ON THE SAND

A simple man, a retired worker who has loved nature since he was born. And respected it. Ulysses Piddiu, 68, has become a symbol on the web, and this should make us all reflect. Why? On the beach of Porto Pinetto, in the municipality of Sant'Anna Arresi, in Sardinia, Ulysses was outraged. And he reacted in his own way, without violence, but with great firmness for to reprimand and stop an uncivilized tourist, capable of throwing the remaining oil of a can of tuna.

ULYSSES PIDDIU

Someone filmed Ulisse Piddiu's outburst, which became a viral video, much appreciated by the people of the Internet. And it turned out that Ulisse often, and like many volunteers not only in Sardinia, makes a reconnaissance tour on the beach, accompanied by his nephew Federico, and collects the waste abandoned by the guests who have truly lost their sense of proportion. Diapers, sanitary towels, plastic bottles and cups, cotton buds.

When he was young, Ulysses went camping on that beach with his schoolmates. Rabbits roamed the dunes, the sea was full of fish, and they caught octopuses with their hands. Now the fish have disappeared, and children's dirty diapers have washed up on the beach, but Ulysses continues to live like a normal person who truly loves nature and defends it, every day. By blocking the uncivilized, and getting personally involved.

Think about it for a moment: what if there were many of us doing it, and not just Ulysses?
