Houses for €1 in the Recoaro area of Veneto

Veneto also joins the group of regions promoting initiatives to repopulate villages by offering homes at the symbolic price of 1 euro. The project is promoted byPasubio Small Dolomites Mountain Union With the purpose of regenerate abandoned or dilapidated buildings and repopulate the areaThe offer is for approximately 22 properties scattered between mountain districts and more central areas of Recoaro Terme and its surroundings.

The call for proposals includes a structured process with specific deadlines and obligations for those who wish to purchase a symbolic property for 1 euro:

1. Expression of interest

Interested parties must submit the Application deadline: April 16, 2026.

2. Stipulation of the contract

If selected in the ranking, the winners will have 2 months to sign the sales contract with the owner.

3. Renovation project

By 6 months from the signing of the contract, it is necessary to deposit it at the Municipality property renovation project.

4. Start and end of works

From the moment you get the building permit, the construction site must be started within 12 months.
All works must be completed within 3 years of signing the contract.

The selection of the ranking, on which the assignment of the houses depends, is not random: the announcement gives points based on social criteria and impact on the territory, to promote the objectives of repopulation and local development.

Scoring examples:

10 points for young people under 35 who intend to use the property as first home.
8 points for those who move their own main residence in the property.
6 points for those who buy as second house or for tourism.
5 points for new commercial or craft activities.
5 points extra if local workers are used for the work.
5 points to transfer residence to the municipality of Recoaro Terme and 2 points for those who already live there.

Each applicant may be awarded one house, even if you apply for multiple properties.

Once the house has been purchased, the new resident has the following obligations:

Renovation project within 6 months
Work start within 12 months
End of works within about 3 years

Where are the houses located?

Most of the properties are located in Recoaro Terme, in historic mountain areas such as:

Storti
Zulpi
To hunt
Rive
zini
Ceola
Maltauro

Other buildings are also present in Valli del Pasubio and Posina, in rural and landscape contexts of value.
