A real panacea for the well-being of our organism, as much as a walk in bicycle, perhaps immersed in the greenery and beauty of nature. What if you could combine both activities and do them simultaneously? Swimming, cyclingA dream for swimming and cycling enthusiasts and an original sport that is no longer impossible to practice thanks to Swimmy, an innovative floating means of transport powered by propellers rotated by pedals.

SWIMMY GIANFRANCO ROSSI
Un perfect combination between one bicycle has always been surfboard Swimmy, designed by Gianfranco Rossi, director and author of Radio3, inventor and holder of dozens of internationally recognized industrial patents, and inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's webbed glove. The idea came from visiting the exhibition on the painter, architect, and scientist who revolutionized not only the figurative arts but also the history of thought and science. The goal was to predict an evolution of the webbed glove making a means of water transport.
Thus was born Swimmy, a completely eco-friendly, lightweight, ergonomic and comfortable “sea bike”, capable of allowing a perfect and fun walk in the water.
A courageous and fascinating challenge carried forward by Gianfranco Rossi: Swimmy he passed the test perfectly water experimentation at the CNR Naval Vessel, and obtained an Italian patent for industrial invention which was followed by an international patent.

SWIMMY
In homage to the genius of the Renaissance and his invention that inspired Swimmy, starting from September 27th and until October 31st, the prototype of the special bicycle will be exhibited in the exhibition “Leonardo Da Vinci. Genius and Inventions – The Great Interactive Machines” set up in the rooms of the Palazzo della Cancelleria in Rome.
And again on Wednesday, September 27, at 18 pm, the Museum's director, Augusto Biagi, will present Gianfranco Rossi with the European "Genius and Inventions" award as a person who, in 2017, distinguished himself for innovation and futuristic ideas.
