It's located in the popular Garbatella neighborhood. Anyone can leave a paid meal for those who can't afford it.

La Casetta Rossa is a unique place in Rome, located at Via GB Magnaghi, 14, in the Garbatella neighborhood. More than just a restaurant, it's a true social outreach, with a series of activities that engage the local community, particularly low-income individuals and families. It houses a popular bakery, where everyone can bake bread and other products, and it promotes initiatives like the "suspended meal," which reflect its commitment to solidarity.
The initiative allows those who eat or visit the Casetta Rossa to donate one or more meals (typically with a minimum donation of around €5) which are left "on hold" for people in financial difficulty (migrants, homeless people or people with low incomes). And those who need it can then request and consume one of these donated meals for free.
The kitchen is open at various times throughout the week, offering an excellent opportunity to enjoy Roman cuisine prepared with fresh, quality ingredients.

The times, that is, when you can to go to eat or leave a meal pending, are typically these (they may vary slightly according to the season or events):

  • Tuesday - Saturday
    ???? ️ Lunch: 13:00 PM – 14:30 PM
    ???? ️ Price: 20:00 PM – 22:30 PM
  • Domenica
???? ️ Lunch: 13:00 PM – 14:30 PM (the kitchen closes after lunch)
Monday is the weekly rest day.
But the Casetta Rossa is also a very active cultural space.

Between the end of 2025 and in the first months of the 2026, at the Red House they were organized meetings and book presentations and debates open to the public. For example, in November 2025 the actress and writer Tezeta Abraham he presented his novel Nostalgia right at Casetta Rossa, with the participation of guests such as the writer Christian Raimo.
At the beginning of 2026 the space hosted a meeting with the journalist Luke Attanasio (and journalist Veronique Viriglio) to present the project Mums, an initiative that tells the story of migrations through the voices of mothers and which includes missions in Ethiopia and Tunisia.

And always in the 2025, the Red House was the main headquarters of the Other Summer Festival, an independent festival of music, theatre, meetings and workshops that enlivens the city every year Crazy Horse Park.
