BREAD AND LIFE ASSOCIATION
BOOK SUSPENDED INMATES
In Parma, the volunteers Members of the "Pane e Vita" association travel in camper vans every evening to collect book donations to donate to the homeless. Last year alone, approximately 6 volumes were delivered. A success, and a tangible help to those who can no longer dream.
The suspended book movement is spreading like wildfire. The goal is to enrich prison libraries, often very poor, where inmates ask for reading material and can't find it. How? With a small but important gesture of solidarity.

HOW TO DONATE A BOOK TO AN INMATE
Anyone wishing to participate in the chain simply needs to leave a gift—a pending book—for someone serving a prison sentence. The network started in Milan, with the Il Mio Libro bookshop, and Rome, with the Fanucci bookshop, but members have arrived from all over Italy and from the publishing houses themselves..
Among the latest requests to participate is a small bookstore in Polla, Campania, which intends to donate the books it receives to the local juvenile prison.La reading It can play a very important role for those who have to live locked up for years. It makes you feel less alone and abandoned, helps you build relationships, and overcome the terrible feeling of time standing still." says Massimiliano Timpano, of the Fanucci bookshop in Piazza Madama, Rome. So, if you want to participate in the chain in some way, just contact the bookstores that launched it in Rome and Milan and join the "A suspended book for prisoners" club.
