Il food wasted in hospitals It's really a lot. A disgrace. About 40 percent of meals are served in the wards. The causes? First of all, the poor quality, then the way the meals are served (always cold and poorly laid out), and the absurd hours (like 6:00 PM when Italians rarely eat dinner before 8:00 PM).
Yet the story of a small hospital in Empoli, San Giuseppe, demonstrates how with a minimum of organisation all this food could not be wasted and donated to charities. voluntary to support the poor who know well what to do with it!
