The Semplicemente Sordo association mainly deals with specialized dog lovers, with particular attention to dogs with hearing and visual impairments (deaf, blind, or deafblind). Organizes rescue, education, and training activities for both owners and dog handlers.
Among its main activities are:
- courses and seminars dedicated to the management and education of dogs with sensory disabilities;
- training for dog trainers and volunteers;
- raising awareness on the issue of animal disabilities;
- educational projects that use the relationship with animals as a tool for personal growth.
The association also created the Simple Farm, An educational farm located in Oleggio, in the province of Novara, offering children's workshops, nature-based activities, and educational experiences with animals. The facility also houses adopted or disabled animals, such as a blind horse and other rescued animals.
The founder, Luca Scanavacca, is a dog trainer known for his work on the relationship with disabled dogs and for having written the book Simply Deaf (Booksprint Editions)
