SELF-SUFFICIENT BUILDING

Un housing module shaped nacelle, completely self-sufficient. This is the project of Rubner Haus in collaboration with the 'European Institute of Design of Turin.Totally in line with the principles of thearchitecture of the future, completely planet e green, was born from the idea of ​​creating a “self-sufficient organism” capable of exploiting the sun and photosynthesis to produce energy, food, oxygen and water necessary for the life of those who occupy it.

RUBNER HAUS: SPACESHIP

Inside, in fact, there is also a vertical garden, where they are grown vegetables, as beans  e salad, as well as microalgae edibles, such as the spirulina, rich in Omega 3It is possible to think about this concept building like a little one home able to carry comfort and well-being to those who live there with a continuous game of interactions with and towards the external environment and vice versa. The plants and algae present in such a restricted space are also fundamental elements for the air regeneration through the absorption of carbon dioxide produced by respiration and the oxygen production.On the tail of the spacecraft there is also a greenhouse which allows the air exchange and its purification.

The water necessary for these processes is taken from the pioggia with a collection system It is then stored in a tank positioned under the nacelle and channeled into a automated irrigation system composed of small pumps. Even on an energetic level the small wooden building è self-sufficient: solar panels on the ceiling allow the storage of energy in a battery that functions similarly to that of the Powerbank for oursmartphones. It is then transformed into energy for use and activation of the devices and for lighting, integrated by LED .

The concepts behind the building of Rubner Haus, a prototype that seems to have come straight out of a science fiction film, are those of thesmart, sustainable and green architecture: total energy self-sufficiency, minimal environmental impact (the challenge is to get to zero impact), green building strategies, Tsmart and 'passive' technologies combined with theuse of natural materials and millennial like wood. Pushing experimentation a little further: the Spaceship project was born with the aim of creating an environment that is not only lower environmental impact possible, but also a place that is self-sufficient in terms of production food, from the I don't waste and the possibility of having everything in a few square meters, without depending on the external context.
