The story of SiTenne , a vintage shop in Rome, is that of Alberta , the project's founder. It's a story of sacrifice, but also of love. Raised in a family with four other siblings, where there wasn't much money but plenty of values, Alberta owes a lot to her mother, who never let her miss her lessons, which were essential for developing a deep respect for others and personal autonomy. And it was Alberta's mother who instilled in her, from an early age, a love for beautiful things and for what others discarded, as well as the idea of ​​not conforming to the crowd but of dressing and acting according to her own ideas, pursuing a completely personal style and look. So, with a degree in Art History under her belt and two twin daughters at home, Alberta launched her personal challenge : opening a vintage shop in Rome, in a neighborhood dominated by the power of Chinese shops.

VINTAGE WEDDING DRESSES

The idea of ​​selling vintage wedding dresses , which can also be rented, came from Alberta's trip to Albania, a country where this custom, distinguishing waste from necessity — renting one's wedding dress—is very popular. The shop's philosophy is precisely this: to ensure that everything can be revisited and loved again.

VINTAGE CLOTHING STORE IN ROME

SiTenne, a term used by Sabina Guzzanti in one of her characters about a shopkeeper, is more than just a clothing store. It's also a place for ideas , revolving around the concept of creative reuse . Clothing, yes, but also vintage accessories and shoes , antique jewelry , and home furnishings. You can buy or rent : costume designers, photographers, and screenwriters can rent what they need for their costumes, photo books, or shows. The idea is to give new life to clothes, to wear them over and over again with satisfaction, until they're worn out. In the true spirit of Non-Waste.

USED ​​CEREMONIAL DRESSES

Alberta also offers the option of selling vintage items on behalf of third parties. It's often difficult to let go of old clothes because they're a keepsake, and we never stop hoping that one day a daughter or granddaughter will use them. At SiTenne, you can bring your own items to resell, so they can have a new lease on life. But be careful: never show up at the store with bags full of clothes! The used purchase process always requires sending photos of the items to be sold in advance, followed by an appointment with the owner for the final selection.

Culture is also at home at SiTenne. A bookcrossing point has been set up in the store , in collaboration with the Il cielo sopra l'Esquilino association , where you can borrow and drop off books completely free of charge.
