The pandemic has relaunched a very useful teaching method for teaching sustainability, starting from an early age. Many lessons are being held to teach children how to avoid waste.

It's not easy to make a open-air school In times of coronavirus. Too many uncertainties, so many fears, and constantly changing regulations. Forlì, the Franciscan nuns of the private nursery school, however, tenaciously pursued their project and managed to complete it. By proposing a real outdoor school.

OPEN AIR SCHOOL FORLÌ

How does the Forlì school work? This is an environmental project inspired by a real journey, made of small things, simple yet equally powerful gestures, into the universe of sustainability. In contact with nature, for example, children discover the life, usefulness, and journey of flowers and animals. They grow plants, care for thegarden, they learn to classify the various species, and at the same time come into contact with ladybugs, butterflies and bees. It is the teachers, hence simple lessons, who explain to them cHow does such a delicate balance hold and how can we humans destroy or protect it?An alternative that plays on lifestyles.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION

Particular attention is paid to education to combat waste, starting from an early age. The garden is considered a preliminary place, to be explored in depth, to give meaning to food and avoid throwing away leftovers. Water is used with discernment: without excess or waste, but also without clumsy sacrifices, like those who skip bathing to reduce their consumption of this "blue gold."

OPEN-AIR SCHOOLS IN EMILIA ROMAGNA

The Emilia Romagna It is one of the Italian regions where open-air schools are most widespread, including those that hold lessons in boschi, with theory lessons and practical exercises. In particular, Don Marco Muratori established the network of open-air schools in the provinces of Forlì and Cesena, associated with the Italian Federation of Nursery Schools. It includes well-established 27 institutes, which share a learning path and exchange educational experiences aimed at deepening civic responsibility, respect for nature, and a genuine commitment to sustainability. Among these institutions is the Achille Lega Preschool in Meldola, which offers both a nursery and a first-grade class. All under the banner of nature, creative recycling, art, and beauty.
