Natural ginger syrup against cough

The combination is truly very powerful: a dose of ginger, obtained from its root, lemon juice and honey are the basic ingredients for a very effective natural cough syrup.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons of ginger
  • A cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Preparation

  • Boil a cup of water over low heat for about 40-50 minutes with two teaspoons of freshly chopped ginger.
  • Add a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of lemon juice and cook again until the syrup is obtained.
  • Drink one teaspoon twice a day.
  • You can also add it to a cup of tea.

Infused with ginger

The alternative to natural syrup, still for coughs and colds, is represented by an infusion based on ginger with cloves, cinnamon and coriander.

Ingredients

  • A small piece of ginger (about 10 cm)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • A pinch of coriander
  • The peel of a lemon
  • 5 cloves
  • 250 ml of water

Preparation

  • Slice the ginger and place it in a saucepan with the cinnamon, coriander, lemon peel and a clove.
  • Add the water, boil for about 15-20 minutes and then filter through a fine-mesh sieve.
  • Sweeten with honey, according to your taste.
