Angelo and Valerio have been lifelong friends, both natives of Ceglie Messapica, in Puglia, and together they have achieved a small miracle in the fight against agricultural waste: they have focused on biodiversity and become exclusive growers of ancient varieties in the area.
Angelo Giordano is an agronomist while Valerio Tanzarella is a lawyer, who worked for years at Rai Cinema in the legal department: together they created Ex Terra, A company that specializes in seeds of forgotten, rare, and precious varieties, ancient and unique. To cultivate, study, and promote them.
Since 2016, the two partners have grown over 7 different varieties, including 1200 types of tomatoes, 20 varieties of aubergines, 200 types of chilli peppers and peppers, 30 types of potatoes, 15 types of peas, 15 types of snow peas, 30 types of broad beans, 10 types of chickpeas, 100 types of melons and then pumpkins, a vineyard made up of almost 20 different grape varieties. All products are grown without pesticides and fertilizers, but only using natural methods. With a perfect method to avoid wasting the richness of authentic, ancient, and truly sustainable Italian agriculture.
