Sage infusion for sore throat

Steep for 5-10 minutes. For a more soothing effect, add a slice of lemon.

For sore throat and inflammation of the oral cavity, a very simple and effective remedy is a sage infusion, which can be prepared in just a few minutes. 

Ingredients for 1 cup 

  •  dried sage leaves (or 2–3 fresh leaves)
  • 200 ml of boiling water
  • Honey (optional, to further sweeten and soothe the throat)

Preparation

  • Bring the water to a boil.
  • Place the sage leaves in a cup.
  • Pour boiling water over the leaves.
  • Cover the cup with a saucer or lid to avoid losing the essential oils.
  • Leave to infuse for 5–10 minutes (The longer you leave it, the more intense the taste and effect will be).
  • Filter the leaves and addyou have honey(optional)
  • Drink in small sips, preferably lukewarm, to maximize the soothing effect on the throat.

Don't overdo it: 2-3 cups a day are more than enough, and if you want to make the soothing effect of the sage infusion more effective, add a slice of fresh lemon.
