Environmental redevelopment: the project for a village that aims to be reborn without wasting resources.

ENVIRONMENTAL REDEVELOPMENT –

Redevelopment in a sustainable way il Old Town of an old Italian village to transform it into a intelligent and efficient country, where there is none no waste of resources. It's the project HERE: Borgofuturo, which will be presented to Ripe San Ginesio, in the province of Macerata on July 4th and 5th during Borgofuturo, the sustainability festival.

And Ripe itself will be the protagonist of this macro-project. Already now the the country has a very high environmental vocationSeparate waste collection has exceeded 80% for years, and the photovoltaic system produces more than half of the municipal electricity needs. The public school is highly energy efficient and is also equipped with solar panels that produce hot water for the gym and nursery. The streetlights are LED, and an old quarry has been reclaimed and sustainably transformed into an open-air theater.

But there is still much to be done to achieve the main objective of the initiative, which is to repopulate the country in a logic of solidarity and sharing Through the redevelopment of the village. This will hopefully revive economic activity and enhance hospitality facilities, making it a hub for tourism as well.

At the end of the project, Ripe will host spaces of coworking, residence for the elderly, community garden and will develop activities to promote intergenerational dialogue. There thelocal economy will be supported through business incubators for young entrepreneurs and the business will also be promoted through temporary store dedicated. The picture gallery will be strengthened, as well as the reception will be carried out through widespread reception spaces.

A result that the organizers want to achieve by following two paths: on the one hand focus on the human resources of the area, on the other hand start to collaborate with the most virtuous realities that have approached Ripe San Ginesio precisely through the experience of Borgofuturo.
All of this will have to happen in sustainable way, taking into account the geography in which the village is located: the interventions will be carried out in respect for the surrounding environment, conserving habitats and respecting biodiversity, protecting agricultural soil and water resources.
