How to make whole wheat biscuits without butter

Whole wheat biscuits, without butter, can be made at home. This simple recipe (it takes about an hour) uses honey and brown sugar instead of butter.

Ingredients

  • 250 g of wholemeal flour
  • 30 ml of sunflower seed oil
  • 50 ml of honey
  • 10 gr of brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • Chocolate chips to taste

Preparation

  • Pour the wholemeal flour into a bowl, make a hole in the centre and add the egg and oil, mixing the ingredients carefully.
  • Once the oil and egg have been absorbed, we can add the honey, sugar, bicarbonate and a pinch of salt, continuing to mix well.
  • Finally, add the chocolate chips and form a thick, smooth mixture that we will put in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  • Once the necessary time has passed, we take the dough again and roll it out with a rolling pin.
  • With the help of a cutter cookies we give the dough the desired shape
  • Let's turn the oven on to 160°
  • Take a baking tray and line it with baking paper
  • Arrange the biscuits, spacing them a little apart, and bake at 160°C for about 15 minutes.
  • Remove the biscuits from the oven, let them cool and store them in a food-safe tin where they will keep for about a week.
