SPALAVERA BOOKSTORE

In Italy, the libraries, especially small and independent ones, continue to close. And this is a grave loss for everyone, both culturally and socially. Yet, despite the decidedly unfavorable context, there are some who have thought of building a small business based precisely on the recovery of used books: let's talk about Filippo Terzi and Marco Tosi. The library of the two young people is located in Verbania-Pallanza, in the historic center, but it also has branches at high altitude.

FILIPPO TERZI AND MARCO TOSI

Filippo Terzi and Marco Tosi, two very young men, purchased a large quantity of used books, building their own archive and opening small bookstores in Piedmont. These are bookshop-cabins where, in addition to buying used books, you can rest, have a tea, eat somethingA small but very significant initiative, which teaches us that the books they can go back to living and giving work.

BOOKSHELF SPALAVERA ACTIVITIES

Beyond the sale and exchange of texts, the library Spalavera has become a hub for a variety of activities related to books and culture. Concerts, author talks, and readings are among the activities the two young people organize. The mountain book market, at Alpe Colle del Monte Spalavera, takes place from June to September. Traveling markets are held in the Northwest and a book fair is also organized. Bwatch sharing. The library has a page Facebook and a page Instagram from which you can follow all its activities.
