Traditional shaving: all the benefits

Your skin isn't stressed, you consume little water, your beard is perfect. And you relax.

Traditional shaving

Traditional shaving is undoubtedly the best way to shave. For the time, without rushing, that those who choose this choice allow themselves. For the pleasure it provides, including the scent it spreads in the bathroom along the way. For the use of natural products, and for the low water consumption. All the ingredients of a traditional shave, from razor to foam, from soap to aftershave, are easy to find online, like searching on Google restaurant reviews.

TRADITIONAL SHAVING

Shaving has always been one of the little pleasures in a man's life.. Of course, we're not referring to the Rambo movie, where the protagonist is almost brutally forced to shave, but to a ritual where you take time for yourself. A clean shave, a mustache, or even a long, well-groomed beard doesn't matter; the only thing that really matters is enjoying those 10-30 minutes to get away from it all and enjoy a moment of relaxation.

WHAT IS TRADITIONAL SHAVING?

In a world where speed is everything (we are in the midst of the era of presenteeism) and you always have to be ready at any moment, dedicating that quarter of an hour to shaving is considered superfluous. Based on this need, disposable razors have become increasingly widespread and shaving foam already mounted. The term traditional shaving instead refers to a way of shaving with which we take our time and are not conditioned by the hurryHence the use of classic style razors, namely:

  • freehand: it is the classic barber's razor that folds on itself and is composed of a handle and a blade that needs to be sharpened from time to time;
  • the shavette: it is essentially like the freehand, almost always having the same shape, but it is not composed of a fixed blade but rather the possibility of inserting disposable razor blades;
  • The safety razor: this is the most recent ancestor of the modern disposable razor. It consists of a handle and a head, inside which a disposable blade is inserted.

Soaps are an integral, if not essential, part of traditional shaving. In fact, just like in the old days, to shave you'll need to whip up the soap by hand with a special brush. It may seem laborious compared to spraying a can of shaving foam, but the opposite is true, especially since using this old-fashioned way of whipping soap allows you to enjoy the fragrance of the scents released in the bathroom.

SKIN BENEFITS

Traditional shaving offers several benefits to the skin, which is treated with extreme delicacy and without forcing.

For some time now, men have also become aware of the usefulness of some beauty products, and this phenomenon has taken the name ofgrooming.

  • Pre- and post-shave products: Although they can be used during any shave, they're rarely considered. A good pre-shave can help prevent skin irritation caused by harsh blades or products that can dry out the skin. A good aftershave has the same effect, with the option of choosing whether it contains alcohol or not.
  • The blade: since all razors are single-blade, the impact on our face will be much more delicate. Moreover, there are thousands of blades available, each with its pros and cons, but above all, each adaptable to a specific face and skin type.
  • Soaps: Leaving aside the purely aesthetic aspect of perfumes and fragrances, the products and components are much more refined and high-quality. We're talking about natural and often hypoallergenic ingredients.

TRADITIONAL SHAVING AND SUSTAINABILITY

Traditional shaving, first and foremost, requires very little water, a factor that shouldn't be underestimated. This shaving method usually involves the use of steel razors, which have a long life and aren't continually wasted. Similarly, soaps, which use green products, the vast majority of the time, and their containers, sometimes made of recycled materials, can be easily reused or thrown away. Unlike cans, they don't contain gas, and a single soap can last for months, if not a year.
