TYPES OF MUZZLES

The muzzle must be chosen according to the characteristics of the dog who must wear it, with the goal of ensuring it is both effective in use and without excessively compromising the animal's life. The most common muzzle models are:

  • Soft net. It allows the dog to do almost everything except bite. Lightweight, soft, and very practical: the dog breathes normally, drinks without difficulty, and
  • Basket or rackIt can be made of metal or plastic: the important thing is that the dog wears it comfortably.
  • Baskerville ModelCompared to the previous model, which had a basket or rack, it has a wider grill and a fabric band under the head, so that the dog is unable to remove the muzzle.
  • Halti ModelVery similar to the “halter” used by horses: it is used to teach the dog to don't pull.
  • Canvas or nylon muzzleIt is not a muzzle to be used under normal conditions, but only in emergency cases. It does not allow the dog to open its mouth normally, makes breathing difficult and even drinking more difficult.
  • Muzzle for dogs with a flat noseThe materials may vary, but the goal is the same: a muzzle suitable for dogs with a flat muzzle and not a round skull. For them, an improperly fitted muzzle could cause breathing problems.
