The 2020 Don't Waste Award Winners

The November 26, in the presence of over 600 students connected virtually from all over Italy, the six winners who, among the many applications received, stood out for their truly sustainable vision of the present and future.

CHAMPIONS OF SUSTAINABILITY

For the 2020 edition, the recognition for the “Character” category went to Maria Capobianchi, director of the Virology Laboratory of theSpallanzani Institute of RomeThe jury recognized the incredible discovery her all-female team made last February. Associations

The prize in this category went to Valentina Loponte that in Basilicata, thanks to Io Potentino Onlus, has found an ingenious solution for stop the waste of breadThe association's volunteers collect any leftovers and turn them into excellent beer. From 15 kilos of bread, this association turns 600 bottles of beer into beer, which they then sell to fund the Magazzini Sociali project, a sort of free supermarket for families in need.
