Beatrice Mauri, 28 years old, suffered for a long time, between the ages of 17 and 20, from anorexiaShe hid food, avoided others, had no desire to go out, and wouldn't listen to anyone, not even her family and friends. She was even hospitalized, but then recovered, and at that point she decided to turn her experience into an outreach project. To help other young people escape the tunnel of eating disorders.
Together with Giulia Mir, 24, a childhood friend, she founded the social project “Positive Weight", an Instagram page created to provide prevention and information about eating disorders, helping those who suffer from them recognize the signs of the condition and seek help. The page, which is highly updated, combines personal experiences, advice, and scientific information, evaluated by a technical-scientific committee of 12 experts in the field.
So Beatrice and Giulia travel to schools to raise awareness, and also to companies and sports clubs to promote healthy eating and a healthy body image.
In addition, Beatrice also works in communications and social media and participates in initiatives, meetings, and educational projects related to mental health and eating disorders, sharing her story to reduce stigma and isolation.
