In practice, the association «Areacanimilano», with sixty very active volunteers, has managed to take over the management of an area next to the Civic Aquarium and a short distance from the Castle, and has transformed this space into a large amusement park for dogs. «It is a form of active citizenship, with a group of people, all dog owners, who have a slice of municipal territory adopted, where dogs used to go for walks. The difference is that now everything is organized, clean, and shared," explains Roberto Perissinotto, president of the Milanese association.

ENTERTAINING DOGS

Of course, the volunteers also take care of the area maintenance, the most complex and delicate thing. And to raise funds, as well as to inform all members, they also created a website, Il mio cane.org, where you can make subscriptions, purchase advertising space, and participate in specific projects of the association. We hope that in other cities there will be someone capable of copying the Milan format, and spreading this good practice of the amusement park for dogs.
