Oscar, 60, is a religion teacher, Giovanna, 48, is a pharmacist. A solid couple, they gave up their professional activities and changed their lives, while over time building a beautiful family with four children: Giacomo, Bianca, and Andrea. This is the life of Oscar Mason and Giovanna Barutto when, in the 1980s, they took over a small farm in Anguillara Veneta, in the province of Padua, along the Via Romea Germanica. Here, Luciano, Giovanna's father, grew only grains that he then sold on the local market, and instead the couple decided to launch an agri-camping project, calling it Daily Bread.
Those who arrive are welcomed by this "open-air family", who in a true natural oasis have created a magical place that serves as a farm campsite but also as a educational farm. In Anguillara Veneta, fruit, honey, medicinal and officinal herbs are produced, and various animals are raised, such as cows, donkeys, rabbits, and geese.
The entire Mason family helps with the hospitality at the Pane Quotidiano agri-campsite, and the two eldest children, Giacomo, 18, and Francesca, 17, attend the Agricultural Institute of Rovigo, while the two youngest, Bianca, 14, and Andrea, 7, go to school in the village. With their parents, Oscar and Giovanna's children carry on the various activities created on the land of Anguillara Veneta: the agri-campsite, the educational farm, zero-mile products and spaces dedicated to events.
