Climate, Obama's new defeat: America won't cut emissions

OBAMA CLIMATE PLAN –

Anyone who wants confirmation of what we wrote about the bluff of the last Climate Conference in Paris should take a look at what is happening in America. One defeat after another for Barack Obama and his environmental policy, and a clear message: emissions are not reduced, and never mind the overheating problemsThe interests of the oil lobbies come first, and must be protected.

SUPREME COURT BLOCKS OBAMA PLAN –

Obama's last defeat dates back to a few days ago. The Supreme Court has struck down the president's plan to reduce carbon emissions by 32 percent by 2030.The American judges have, in fact, accepted the appeal presented by 24 US states, generally controlled by Republicans (but there are also some in Democratic hands), aligned with the interests of big industry and in particular the oil lobby.

PARIS CLIMATE AGREEMENT FAILS –

The Court has ruled that the President's plan, announced with great fanfare at the Paris Climate Conference, cannot be implemented. until some legal disputes with some states are resolved. In fact, it was the companies themselves who appealed to the Supreme Court to challenge Obama's commitments in Paris.

There are two conclusions at this point. The first: Obama's plan will not come into force before the end of his last term, and his successor could even cancel it permanently.. Especially if he's a representative of the Republican Party. The second: the Paris Agreement, with this American defection, it's now waste paper. As we unfortunately predicted.
