A fingerprint, a tomato stain, the mark of a pencil or a pen: the house walls are subjected to the pressure of the dirtyFor marks and fingerprints that don't require the usual chemical cleaners. Natural remedies are more than enough, and there are even tailor-made ones available. A natural product for every type of stain.

How to clean the walls of your house

  • Get a spray bottle and add 1 cup of water, ½ cup of vinegar, and 6 drops of lemon (or grapefruit or orange) essential oil. Shake well. Then, spray the stains on the wall and gently scrub with a clean, damp sponge.
  • If the walls in question are in a child's room, do this: Pour 1 cup of water, 3 drops of thyme essential oil, and 5 drops of tea tree oil into a spray bottle and then spray on the halos, removing them with a damp sponge or a perfectly clean cloth.
  • If radiator marks are visible on the walls, remove them with a detergent made from 50g of grated Marseille soap and 1 liter of warm water. Once the soap has dissolved, dip a sponge in it and gently rub the stain. Finally, remove the soap with a damp sponge. The sponge must always be colorless. Warm water and Marseille soap will also remove marker, pen, and paint stains. Dab the area with the sponge soaked in soapy water and let it sit for half an hour. Test on a small corner of the wall first to see if the mixture damages the paint.
  • If you notice tomato splatters on your walls, use lemon. Put a little on the stain and...leave it to act for an hourThen rinse with water and neutral soap.
  • To remove grease stains, rub with turpentine using a cloth and let it work for about 30 minutes. Finally, rinse with cold water and let dry.
  • For grease stains on wallpaper, you can use a mint cleansing pasteGet 1/4 cup of concentrated oil soap paste, 2 drops of peppermint essential oil, 2 drops of spearmint essential oil, and 2 drops of tea tree oil. Pour the paste into a glass container, such as one used for baby food, then add the essential oils and mix everything together. Once you have a gel-like paste, dab it onto the oily stain with a damp cloth, rubbing it to create a lather. Finally, rinse with a clean cloth or sponge.
  • When you clean the walls, always do it From the bottom to the top, so the drops won't drip or scratch them. If detergents don't remove the stains, use a pencil eraser or a soft eraser, which also removes graphite marks. A freshly cut rhubarb stalk, rubbed on the stain, can also help. Then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
