MIGRANTS PASTRY CHEFS –

So 10 guests of two Sprar (Protection System for Asylum Seekers and Refugees) in Rome were involved in a series of pastry-making lessons. The migrants, from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Mali, Gambia, and Senegal, showed signs of psychological fragility and eating disorders. with this laboratory they have been able and will be able to acquire professional skills, stimulating an effective therapeutic-rehabilitative process.

MIGRANT INTEGRATION PROJECTS –
The lessons are part of the project Migrants in Formation of the association Nine Onlus carried out in collaboration with the EtaBeta Social Cooperative. “The concrete and emotional experience of the workshop – explains Livia Maurizi, project manager of Nove Onlus – It will offer young people an opportunity to engage and carry out an individual and group project and activate possible paths of social and work inclusion and autonomy.”. Launched in October 2016, the initiative aims to provide migrants with these difficulties with the tools for effective integration into society. For this reason, after an initial phase of professional training and career guidance, the "migrant pastry chefs" who participate in the workshop are offered the opportunity to complete internships in companies offering job placement. A need for integration which is becoming increasingly pressing and which must be promoted with all available means.
