You have overdone it with the purchases of carne Ground beef? Do you have a tiny steak left over that you forgot to cook the night before and now you don't know what to do with it? Do you have a tiny leftover carpaccio that you're really sorry to throw away? Don't worry, we have the solution for you: a delicious recipe with leftover meat, a revisited version of the recipe Meatballs with sauce.
Meatballs are a universally appreciated dishQuick and easy to prepare, they're a hit with both adults and children alike. If you make a large batch, you can even freeze them and bring them to work in special containers. Reheated in the microwave, they retain a pleasant flavor and are a nutritious meal. They're usually made with ground meat, but if you have any unused pieces of meat in the fridge, blend them after shredding them with a fork and knife. You'll have created your own base for homemade meatballs, and more importantly, you won't have wasted expensive groceries. To enhance the flavor, sprinkle the ground meat with a pinch of ginger and a few rosemary leaves.
At this point, with your minced meat, you can start making your meatballs!
Ingredients
- Leftover bread you have at home
- a glass of milk
- 500 grams of your homemade ground beef
- 1 egg
- garlic, salt and pepper, nutmeg to taste
- a jar of tomato sauce
- extra virgin olive oil
Preparation
Soak your bread scraps—preferably whole wheat—in milk, and combine them with the ground beef, egg, and garlic cloves (for flavor). Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and nutmeg for flavor. Mix everything well in a bowl and shape into balls with your hands. For the more gourmet, roll the meatballs in sesame or poppy seeds.
In a separate saucepan, heat the tomato sauce, seasoning it with a pinch of rosemary and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Once hot, pour the sauce into a small bowl and arrange your meatballs on top.
