SMART BINS LONDON

Called Smart bins , the special containers are located in London and are capable of communicating with users via an interactive LCD display on which it is possible to read the latest news published by the Economist, stock market prices but also data on air quality and even waiting times for the various underground lines.

Soon, they will also provide information on the status of the bin , the level and type of waste present and will be equipped with Wi-Fi hot spots so as to make the data not only accessible to everyone but also consultable anywhere.

The smart bins scattered around London have cost the municipal coffers around 600 thousand euros and are currently being tested in New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo.

Useful and intelligent , don't be surprised if, walking around London, you find lines of people in front of these special bins intent on reading the news reported on their screens.
