Lastanzadigreta it's much more than a bandWe are in the volcanic and artistic city of Turin, where five musicians chose this name for their group, trying to concentrate the musical work on two sides. Sustainability and children.
LASTANZADIGRETA
La band Lastanzadigreta It is made up of five people: Alan Brunetta (plays percussion, marimba, keyboard), Flavio Rubatto (Theremim, synthesizers, harmonium and percussion), Leonardo Laviano (vocals and acoustic guitar), Umberto Poli (acoustic guitar and cigar box) and Jacopo Tomatis (mandolin and synthesizers).
THE BAND THAT PLAYS WITH SCRAPS
But the fundamental characteristic of the group Lastanzadigreta is to also play with a series of tools rescued from landfills and the waste disposal chain. Steel pipes, diesel drums, disused tennis rackets, old toys: in short, the five's music is born first and foremost from recovery and recycling of waste. Of any kind.
The artistic results were not lacking. And so Lastanzadigreta won the Tenco Award in 2017, he made very successful album also on vinyl (the latest one came out in February 2021 and is titled Useless machines) and tours Italy with his concerts.
UNUSUAL CONCERTS
From here we come to the second driving force of the band: the relationship with children, even those who suffer from very complicated diseases and are treated with the help of music made specifically for them. Destinies that inevitably cross in 2019, when Alan Brunetta, the band's percussionist and multi-instrumentalist, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Surgery was urgent and, fortunately, it was performed at Molinette Hospital with excellent results. From that moment on, the experiences the group had during the toy concerts, in pediatric oncology departments, have acquired a greater and deeper value in hindsight. A concrete and very effective way to help children overcome a critical moment and escape the tunnel of illness. Lastanzadigreta has always pursued the dream of experiencing a new, direct, spontaneous music, free of "adult" frills. Precisely for this reason, and working diligently towards this ideal, on his website he presents the Manifesto of «music for girls"... that speaks to everyone and about everything, that can be played with musical instruments but also without, that plays with sounds.
The second album released in 2021 is called “Macchine Inutili” and, freely inspired by the creative genius of Bruno Munari, tells “invisible” stories that take place in the scenario of everyday life and tell of the most important “useless machine” in the human story: the art (therefore music), relegated precisely to a useless machine in these difficult years of pandemic.
