Jo Powell, 44, is a gentle, sweet, and patient woman who knows how to deal well with her clients, all of whom share a common disorder: the compulsive accumulation of objects that fills every space in their home. So, when Joe is called with her cleaning company, she has to spend at least an hour surveying the job and convincing her clients to donate the items they've accumulated. Then Jo puts down the garbage bags to be filled, removes her gloves, and helps clients decide what to keep or throw away, offering emotional support and practical support, treating the situation with sensitivity and respect as many people with this disorder experience intense shame and anxiety.

Her parents died when she was in her twenties, and her brother committed suicide at a young age. For Jo, mental and physical ailments are a daily occurrence, and so she built a career specializing in cleaning for people who typically combine their hoarding compulsions with severe depression.
