Bagged salad has been recalled across Italy: a measure affecting 19 brands, including major supermarket chains like Eurospin and Sigma, as well as many produce stores that claim to be "green" or "zero-mile." The measure was taken by the Ministry of Health because bagged iceberg lettuce is considered a listeria risk. Listeriosis is a disease that can cause meningitis, encephalitis, and sepsis.

We have always been against it to the bagged salad, And not just for food safety reasons (there's also the issue of plastic consumption), and this operation only confirms our concerns. The brands of the recalled salads are produced by the company Ortoromi Società Cooperativa Agricola of Bellizzi, in the province of Salerno.
