How to use the dishwasher properly

La dishwasher It's one of the appliances that consumes the most electricity. This is also because we use it so frequently, even several times a day, and sometimes incorrectly. Sometimes domestic energy waste is linked to the improper use of household appliances. These are mistakes that we promptly pay for in our energy bills. The dishwasher is undoubtedly one of the appliances that involves increased electricity and water consumption. For this reason it is essential to know some rules that allow us to contain expenses ed avoid wasteHere are some simple tips for a intelligent use of the dishwasher.

  • Before placing dishes and pots in the dishwasher, remember to remove any food residue under running water or with a paper towel. This will prevent unpleasant odors and allow you to run the dishwasher only when it's fully loaded. There's no point wasting water, soap, and energy on just a few dishes.
  • Alternatively, before proceeding with the washing, leave the dishes and cutlery soak for a while.
  • Also, try not to overdo the amount of detergent: these are polluting chemicals.
  • Remember that 45 degrees is more than sufficient for an adequate wash and a higher temperature is simply an unnecessary waste of energy.
  • Finally, if possible, only run the dishwasher at night to save on costs.
  • Always use the dishwasher with a full load, otherwise you are wasting energy and therefore money.

What is the cheapest program?

Different types of dishwashers have programs that allow you to set the desired temperature for washing. The temperature usually ranges from 40 to 70 degrees. What is the most economical and sustainable program? Definitely the Eco wash, both because it uses less water than a normal wash and because the wash itself lasts much shorter. But also because of the temperature, which is lower than 55 degrees.

How does washing work?

The dishwasher draws water to fill the bottom tank, then raises the temperature to the required temperature for the selected program. Detergent, placed in the appropriate compartment, mixes with the water and sprays all over the dishes. Finally, the dirty water is drained through a pump, and additional water, unmixed with detergent, is sprayed onto the dishes to rinse them. The water is then drained again.

How do you use the dishwasher for the first time?

After installing the dishwasher, you must proceed with the first wash cycle following the instructions in the manual. Generally, you need to remove the basket, unscrew the cap, add 1,5 kg of salt to the reservoir, and fill it with water. Then, screw the cap back on, reinsert the basket, and start the first wash cycle.
