There's no need to spend a fortune on a child's birthday party. Planning a low-cost party is absolutely possible: the key is to simplify, take advantage of your home or free spaces (parks and public gardens), and focus on creative activities rather than expensive, showy items.

Themed accessories
A respectable party always includes a theme and accessoriesYou can easily make the latter yourself, with imagination and without stress... in the kitchen!
To realize 30 rings with “precious” stones You will need these ingredients:
- 15 g butter
- 40g of marshmallows
- 60 g of puffed rice
- Candies
- Licorice laces
Method
- Melt the butter with the marshmallows in a bain-marie. Remove from the heat, add the rice blown and mix well.
- Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper (it will be very sticky while warm) and roll it out with a rolling pin until it's about 2 cm thick. Now the kids can work with the dough: give them cookie cutters to cut out the bases for their rings.
- Attach the licorice string to each shape to hold the ring on your finger. Attach the candies, which will serve as gemstones, and let your rings harden before wearing them.
Menu
A birthday party menu can be prepared at home even a day in advance. It's best to opt for seasonal foods and homemade recipes, avoiding the temptation to buy packaged snacks: opt for a good ciambellone or many tasty hand-made sandwiches.
This could be an example of what to offer to guests:
- Mini sandwiches with sandwich bread homemade stuffed with cooked ham and sliced cheese
- Panini with basil, salami and cheese
- Mini croissants with the Nutella
- Slices of Team Building white, better if made with the mother pasta
- Slices of Team Building red
- Homemade piadina
- Jam tart
- Popcorn
- Biscotti
- fresh fruit
- The birthday cake

Toys
In detail we suggest you How to entertain children in a fun and enjoyable way:
- 16pm: Arrival of guests and free games with balloonsBlow up lots of balloons and leave them scattered on the floor.
- 4:30 PM: The hot potato. This game is prepared like this: take the newspaper e small prizes (Soap bubbles, candy, gadgets like pencils and erasers). Then begin wrapping the first sheet of newspaper, then the second, and so on, trying to form a ball, sealing everything with a bit of tape. Arrange the children in a circle, sitting down, and start the music. Explain to the children that the hot potato is hot and must be passed quickly, otherwise they'd be holding it constantly, waiting for the music to end. As soon as the music stops, whoever is holding the ball can unwrap the first sheet of newspaper... and so on. This game is suitable for all children: from 2 to 12 years old.
- 17 hours: pin the tail on the donkey: Draw the outline of a donkey on a piece of poster board. Use some wool thread to tie a pendant to resemble the donkey's tail. Take a piece of Velcro and glue one end to the donkey's tail drawing and the other end to the pendant. Now blindfold the children and ask them to attach the tail to the correct spot on the poster board.
- 17.30 hours: baby dance: no self-respecting party can be without a baby dance.
- 6:30 PM: Unwrapping of gifts
- 19 hours: Cake birthday
If you don't feel like organising games in such a detailed way you can set up small tables with watercolours or coloured pencils and plenty of paper, Play-Doh homemade and molds, small containers with materials of various types and shapes for making decantings or pasta necklaces.
Alternatively, you can tell your little ones a fairy tale and have them pretend to be fairies or pirates: give them a magic wand and pirate mask and start telling the adventures of the characters in your chosen tale. To save on masks and wands, a great solution is online: Mix Parties For example, you can find everything you need to organize an unforgettable party, from decorations to games, at very reasonable prices.
