Growing at home
- An early, single-flowered tulip, 23–40 centimeters tall, with rather small, flattened flowers. Depending on the species, they can be red, pink, or yellow in color.
- An early, double-flowered tulip, 23–40 centimeters tall, with long-lasting flowers and sometimes frilled petals. Flower colors: orange, pink, and red.
- Darwin tulip, up to 60-75 centimetres tall, with red and yellow flowers that bloom in April.
- Lily-flowered tulip, 50-60 centimetres tall, with long flowers (yellow, pink and red), pointed and retroflexed petals.
- Botanical tulip, very small, between 15 and 25 centimetres, with white and red and red and yellow flowers.
- Late botanical tulip, 20-30 centimetres tall, with brown streaked or mottled leaves and red and cream-coloured flowers.
Problems and remedies
Tulips are not often attacked by pests. One of the biggest risks, however, is the mold "Botrytis Tulipae," which can cause the plant to rot.
