WHERE THE SAINT ORSOS FAIR OF AOSTA IS HELD –
While in the Middle Ages, the fair was held in the town of Aosta, specifically in the area surrounding the Collegiate Church of Sant'Orso, now the entire city center is involved in the event. As legend has it, it all began right in front of the church, where Sant'Orso distributed clothes and "sabots"—the traditional wooden shoes that can still be admired and purchased at the fair today—to the poor.
PROGRAM OF THE SAINT ORSIO FAIR IN AOSTA –
Two days dedicated to the creativity of the craftsmen but also to music and folklore and an excellent opportunity to discover the wines and delicious typical products of the Aosta Valley. And on the night between January 30th and 31st, don't miss the "Veillà", a term that once referred to the long evenings spent in the stables, with family and friends, chatting, playing cards, carving wood and working at meshEvenings where people would stop to listen to the stories and legends told by the village elders. A festive moment that will also be commemorated during the Sant'Orso Fair, when thousands of people will liven up the streets of Aosta until dawn.
